Landscape: Activity 5

This picture is an example of depth of field because the bar on the left is in focus and then that makes your eye move to the truck and then the trees in the background. Depth of field is important so that the viewer eyes naturally move to the back of picture to see the whole composition.

Landscape: Activity 4 Blog

This picture is closed landscape because you are seeing most of the tree and the trees behind it but since the pictures are close up to the camera you're eyes don't move to the back.

This picture is open landscape because there are things close to the camera and things further away from the camera that are in focus and that you can look at. Like the tree on the right, the rocks in the water and even the mountain in the far back.

Landscape: Activity 2

This photographer is using leading lines making the illusion that you're going down the road. This could be a metaphor for just to keep moving forward and life moves on.

This picture looks like its trying to just show the path but you could use it as metaphor that you can either take the path or you can go off track and be
adventurous.

Landscape: Activity 1

This picture is an example of art because they clearly tried to get good composition and changed it from color to black and white. I think the black and white part makes it look more depressing and darker since its a picture of a cemetery.

Time: Activity 2

This photo is of a hummingbird eating nectar from a flower. This picture has a very fast shutter speed because the hummingbirds wings move the fastest out of all birds. People never get to see hummingbirds wings when their flying. That gives the picture a sense of motion because you know the bird was flying when the photographer took the picture.

Time: Activity 1

this picture seems to be of little kids beating up a crippled child. This moment the photographer to capture the true rude actions of the kid that is waiting to punch and the children in the background laughing. Also it shows the feelings of the boy they're trying to fight, you can almost feel his hurt. Lastly the boy who seems to be holding back and trying to stop the bully. This picture makes you really want to keep looking and wonder how all the subjects are feeling.

Light: Activity 4

this picture is an example of great depth of field with a small appeture because there is a lot of composition and its not zoomed in on any specific subject.

This picture is also an example of great depth of field with a small aperture. there aren't any harsh shadows and the only light is coming from the sun.

This picture is an example of shallow depth of field with harsh shadows. The pool ball is the only thing in focus and the one in the back is out of focus. the appeture is small so focus up close.

This picture is an example of shallow depth of field because the closest thing is in focus and the face is out of focus. you would use a large depth of field.

Light; Activity 2

This picture in an example of a picture with only one light source. The light in coming from the right on the picture, you know this because there is a shadow only on the left side of the ball.

This picture clearly has multiple light sources. Each mushroom has different sides and angles lit. When you have multiple light sources there are less harsh shadows.

Light Activity 3

Frame & Composition: Activity 2

1. John Szarkowskie means that you have to think outside the box. You should not just take the obvious subjects, make the pictures interesting and make people want to keep examining the pictures you took.
2. The public would be shocked by how realistic he made the painting look with using the shadows and depth.

Frame & Composition: Activity 1

Comparison-2 Views of Spanish mission
this is an example of the photographer removed un wanted details to close up on the building.
Gull on beach
this picture is focused only on the bird, he could have shown more of the water but he closed up only on the bird.
